Magical Realism

The central focus of the Magical Realism series paintings are the patterned mass of architectural designs based on the Italian regions of Umbria and Tuscany as well as Budapest and Prague.

The works are symmetrical and offer designs with a puzzle like quality along with glowing and shaded color contrasts and ornamental design depicting the past. These elements are an integral part of each work and act as a frame around the naturally depicted landscapes and in some cases still lives. The paintings are about life as theatre and they create the backdrop for the Magical Realism series.
